Join the Runners World Running Streak!

The idea is to run 1 mile a day from now until 4th July (for Americans- Memorial Day until Independence Day). That’s 38 consecutive days of running…

With summer finally on it’s way, and many excuses to skip a workout cropping up- holidays, heat, BBQs etc- this seems like the perfect way to keep motivated and maintain fitness.

NOTE: 1 mile is equal to approximately 1.6km!

Seeing as I don’t know exactly when I’ll be off to Australia, I’m going to try and do this until I leave…

After that I definitely intend to keep up the workouts but they might be a bit more sporadic as we travel around. I think it’s important for me not to have a huge break in my routine however, seeing as I’ve only being doing it for such a short space of time. It would be so easy to fall back into old habits and lose any progress I’ve made which I’m determined not to do!

Monday’s Miles:

DISTANCE – 3.7km
TIME – 28:36mins
AVERAGE PACE – 7:47mins/km

I’m really pleased that my average pace is now pretty much consistently below 8mins/km. The next target is below 7mins! (30minute 5k = 6mins per km) Today’s run was hard work because it was really hot and sweaty with hardly any breeze. Definitely glad I made the effort though, even if I looked like a tomato by the time I got back…haha.

Picking my sister up from the station this evening- very excited to see her and have some fun this week! 🙂
