Canadian activewear brand LIJA create running, yoga and gym gear that draws inspiration from the catwalk, and fuses fashion with function.
The kit is high end luxury fitness clothing (of a similar price point to Sweaty Betty and Lululemon), that is designed to allow women to look feminine while feeling comfortable and confident working out. I believe that there’s nothing wrong with looking good during your run or gym session if it helps you to push that bit harder or feel a little more badass!
And combining the amazing prints and stylish details with technical functional fabrics means you can concentrate on the next sprint interval or heavy lift without worrying about your leggings falling down or top riding up.
I’m lucky enough to work with LIJA on a daily basis in my new job, and was recently gifted a couple of pieces from the new Autumn/Winter collection to review in my capacity as a blogger. My sister and I headed out for a photoshoot when she came over to visit last weekend – I felt a little awkward but I don’t think the pictures turned out too badly!
No Fear Capri
I love the design of these capris, which is based on animal print with subtle bursts of yellow – it’s eye-catching without being too in your face! The fabric is moisture wicking and quick drying, and really comfortable to wear. It’s hard to tell in the photos but the pattern has reflective details built into the design for visibility on darkening evenings too.
The capris also have a drawcord to adjust, and a small key pocket in the waistband. I’ve worn them for yoga and walking so far (and just to the office) and they perform brilliantly!
Vulcan Jacket
This jacket is so warm and comfortable, and is a great layering piece as the weather gets colder. It’s a slim fit design in a grey marl with contrast panelling which is super flattering. I love the thumbholes as well!
The jacket also has two zip pockets and reflective details for visibility. It’s a hip length style with a curved hem, which means you don’t get a cold exposed back if you bend over during your workout, or when worn cycling.
