The Naked Grocer Vegbox

I am incredibly lucky to have the “Best Green Grocer in the UK” on my doorstep (winner 2012-2013), and while walking up there to peruse their amazing selection of fresh produce and artisan products is a great way to spend a weekend, sometimes I’m too busy to make it. And then I miss out on their enormous sweet potatoes, fresh tomatoes, and the creamiest avocadoes ever! Sadface 🙁
So I was really excited to discover recently that the Naked Grocer now offers Home Delivery of Vegboxes! Woo!
When I was in there last week, I asked about them delivering on a Saturday (as I’m at work during the week, and don’t want my veggies sitting out on the doorstep in the rain) and they were very obliging.
I opted for the small £10 box, which will always contain the staples of carrots, onions and potatoes, and then the rest will be made up with either locally grown or seasonal produce that is full of goodness and flavour!
I was even able to specifically request that I always have sweet potatoes in my box, and no regular potatoes. So if you really don’t like something, then you can make sure you never receive it. You’re also able to add milk, eggs, jams, cheeses, chutneys, pickles, olive oils or anything else that they stock onto your order too! I asked for eggs, as I always need to have them in my fridge 🙂
So this morning, around 9:30am a colourful box of delights landed outside my front door!
It was so exciting to unpack and see what I’ve been sent, and then pull out the recipe books and start planning meals with the different ingredients. If anyone has any suggestions please comment below!
This week I received:
1 huge sweet potato
2 red onions
6 carrots
1 aubergine
1 red pepper
A bunch of kale
3 large mushrooms
Red and yellow tomatoes
Romano green beans

Let’s get cooking!
