Winter Activewear: TLC Sport and Zalando

With all the extra sessions at the gym during the MyPT Transformation Challenge, I’ve been washing my favourite pieces of kit rather more often! Even though I am lucky enough to have a pretty extensive collection of activewear there are always those items that I will turn to again and again, and which I’ll grab off the clothes airer and put on before they even reach the drawer.

This month I’m excited to add some more fabulous pieces to my winter wardrobe, which are going to come in extra useful as I head outside to join the Winter Run 10k running club every Thursday evening and of course continue my love affair with the weights and kettlebells at MyPT Studio…

Winter Activewear

TLC Sport

This Reversible Luxe Jacket is something I’ve been putting on a lot when not actually working out – it’s so comfortable and really warm! The design can be worn with the print on the sleeves and a plain body, or with the print on the torso and plain sleeves. I prefer the first option, as it’s a little more subtle but the reversible nature of the jacket is pretty clever. The only thing I would say is that although it’s long in the body, which I love, the bottom hem is quite tight which makes it a bit uncomfortable when sitting down and means the jacket rides up a bit when walking.

I’m also in love with these 360 Reflective Print Running Leggings from TLC Sport! I wore them to the Winter Run Club last night with Elle, and they were so comfortable. I got loads of compliments on the design as well, which I think is actually really flattering. There’s no problems with them staying up whilst running, and they have a great wide waistband with a zip pocket. The colour blocking and mesh panels on the legs are a really cool design, plus they are super reflective and bright which is perfect for this time of year.

If you’re not a fan of the neon yellow, they also do the same design in black and a slightly toned down yellow-stripe option. At £42.00 (£32.00 on sale at the moment!) I think they’re a great affordable piece of winter kit.

Zalando

Another fab pair of leggings I’ve been wearing are these Puma Clash Tights from Zalando.

I’d not come across the website before, but it’s a great place to pick up sportswear bargains! From Nike, Reebok, Puma, Adidas, to Varley, Ivy Park and even Fitbit and Yurbuds – I was really impressed with the range of brands on offer. The products aren’t necessarily current season, or the latest coolest designs but at £27.99 the Puma leggings are great value, and a quality brand.

Zalando definitely have some good “everyday” fitness options too, such as these Nike Performance Core Motion TR3 Sports Shoes and this Pieces Black Rucksack.

The backpack has become my go-to for work – I’ve been trying to stop carrying heavy bags on just one side, in order to avoid exacerbating my already wonky hips and causing shoulder pain. This leather-look rucksack is a sturdy design, but looks a little “dressier” than an Osprey or more sporty bag, so I can get away with taking it to meetings!

The Nike trainers aren’t ones that I would wear for running as they don’t offer enough support but they’re great for walking to and from work. I’ve also worn them to Kettlebells and strength training sessions too, where it’s actually beneficial to wear minimal footwear which give you more contact with the ground and therefore more stability.

Have you discovered any new fitness brands or websites recently? I would say, let me know, but buying activewear is becoming a strange addiction!
