21days of Yoga: Done!

So the #21DaysofYoga challenge is over, and I just thought I’d give a quick summary of the month…

The Yoga I’ve Done
5 Bikram Yoga classes (review post to follow)
5 YouTube sessions
  1. 25min Hip Opening Flow
  2. 25min Yoga For Runners
  3. Yoga for the IT Bands
  4. Yoga for Better Sleep
  5. Yoga for Runners Cooling Down Sequence and ITB Relief for Runners

What I’ve Learnt
  • YouTube is awesome for finding new and relevant videos! I’ve collated several playlists, and nearly always follow up a run with a short video now.
  • I have much more patience for relaxing and trying to clear my mind- I used to be one of those people who would get up and leave before the Savasana at the end of a class. I thought I had “things I ought to do” and I “didn’t have time for that”! Now I actually look forward to that part 🙂
  • I will never be a super graceful flexible person, but I do feel that regular yoga is making a gradual but noticeable difference. I really hope that keeping it as a part of my routine will help me to fix and prevent any injuries caused as a result of increased mileage in my half marathon training schedule. Maybe one day I’ll be able to touch my toes!

Thanks Charlie for hosting the 21day yoga challenge 🙂
