WIAW : What I Ate Wednesday 17

Yesterday, Wednesday, was a day of fun food and tasty treats!

Breakfast
2 shredded wheat with Greek yoghurt, blueberries and raspberries – this has quickly become my go-to summer breakfast. It’s so quick to assemble in the mornings and tastes amazing! 🙂

Lunch
Ham, houmous and lettuce sandwich on tiger bread! Normally we make our own bread at home- we have a breadmaker, which is one of the best kitchen gadgets ever. Nothing beats filling your home with the smell of freshly baked bread, yum! But sometimes I get a craving for a French baguette or something a bit different, or if I haven’t had time to make any (it takes about 3hrs for a loaf), Tiger Bread from Sainsbury’s is one of my favourite fall back options…

I had some chopped cucumber and tomatoes on the side. Plus two apricots 🙂

Mid-afternoon snack
Apple and a Trek bar, plus a cup of tea. 

Dinner
Leftover fish pie – this recipe is from the Pieminister cookbook and is amazing! I definitely recommend you check it out. Mark made a huge one on Tuesday and there were enough leftovers for me to have some after Crossfit yesterday evening. 

I think it deserves another picture. Look at that…mmm…..
Evening snack
I had a coffee from our Nespresso machine plus a Tim Tam – I probably shouldn’t have eaten/drunk so late at night but I love reading in bed with a hot drink before I go to sleep!

Do you snack in the evenings? Or do you stop eating after a certain time? Getting home from Crossfit at 9pm means I’m eating a lot later on some days at the moment – very European!

    I tend to have dinner around 7pm usually, but on a Thursday I go to pump so I have dinner at 6- I did try having it when I got home but I didn't eat until gone 9pm and that was too late for me really.

    I try and stop eating at least two hours before bedtime but dinner is usually pretty late for us. We both get home from work at 6 and if I'm going running, I get out there asap. Usually I'm back from a run and showered by 8 and then start on making tea. Sometimes my boyfriend gets bored of waiting and makes tea so that it's ready as I walk through the door back from my run. On these days it's much less hassle! 🙂

    Yeah it's a difficult decision isn't it. I usually have a snack before I exercise after work, but I couldn't eat a full meal- especially for jumping up and down or running!

    Haha it's nice when the boyf makes the dinner! 🙂 I like to go and exercise straight after work too, and don't mind eating later really- I should perhaps just curb the snacks!
