Fun Friday Links – Karen’s Challenge

This Friday is just a quick post to point you in the direction of a blog written by one of my ex-work colleagues. She was really helpful and supportive when I started running last year, pointing me in the direction of a recommended running shop and motivating me to get out and run at lunchtimes, following her example!
Karen is currently undertaking an awesome running challenge this year to raise money for the East Anglian Children’s Hospice. They support and care for children and young people with life threatening illnesses, and their families, and help them make the most of their lives.

So far Karen has already completed the Paris Marathon, Bungay Marathon, North Norfolk Marathon and the Classic Quarter Ultra Marathon from Lizard Point to Land’s End! Phew! And she’s not done yet!

“I love running, so thought I’d take it all a bit further this year and get some extra long distance miles in. I’m currently going to be competing in 360 miles worth of events – mainly running, but a bit of triathlon and adventure racing too. Not to mention all the training that goes with it! I’m up to around 650 miles of running this year already, so maybe I’ll reach the 2013 mark for the year…” Source

Have a great weekend!
