Foodie Penpals: June

I’ve had a couple of months off from Foodie Penpals as things have been pretty busy, but decided to get involved again for June.

In case you haven’t heard of Foodie Penpals, it’s a really cool way for food bloggers and blog readers to get to know each other, via a lovely parcel in the mail every month!

It started in the USA run by Lindsay at The Lean Green Bean, and is now co-ordinated in the UK by Carol Ann from This Is Rock Salt, so head on over if you want to sign up! 🙂

Here are my first two parcels that I received:
February
March

This month I got a package from Gill from Tales Of Pigling Bland– she posts great sounding recipes with some tasty looking photographs!

Here is what she sent me:

a) Doryaki – a Japanese sweet treat of a pancake filled with red bean paste
b) Mini nut snack packs – perfect for taking to work
c) Plantain chips – I’ve never tried plantains so I’m intrigued to give these a go.
d) Banana Soreen fruit loaf – I had a mini one of these in a goodie bag recently so I know it’s tasty! And great running fuel.
e) There was also a hot chocolate sachet but I may have already drunk that before I took the photos!

Gill also included a note and some cute homemade bunting in the box which made me smile – thanks Gill! 🙂

I sent a parcel to a blog reader in the Netherlands this month, with the theme of nuts! So I made some more of my peanut butter bites, and popped in some almond butter, walnut cooking oil, and some snack packs of nuts 🙂
