Fitness Freak Rave : Glowsticks Galore!

Wednesday evening I was getting my rave on, dancing to 90’s tunes, and singing my head off whilst bopping around with glow sticks in each hand!
I went along to the Fitness Freak Rave held at the Vaults, under Waterloo station. It was high energy, super sweaty and the most fun “exercise class” I’ve ever taken.
There were two instructors to follow on stage plus a DJ rocking some awesome cheesy tunes. The moves were easy to follow and the routine built up gradually with a slower paced conditioning section halfway through the session, to allow you to get your breath back! But still feel the burn with hundreds of squats and lunges!
The venue was awesome, with an entrance off a highly graffitied tunnel, into an underground urban warehouse-type space.
The room was decked out with neon and glowing decorations, and I discovered my shoelaces were also pretty fluorescent too!
Yes, that’s me and my shoes 🙂
The only criticism I would have would be that wasn’t quite enough space – I did hit a few people with my enthusiastic arm waving, and whilst they didn’t seem to mind, a slightly lower cap on the number of people attending might have been a good idea. There were two sessions Wednesday evening and it was so popular they put on a extra day on Thursday!
You can just spot me (and Speedy Becs!) over on the left in this photo with flash!
After the hour was up, which absolutely flew by, we were able to re-hydrate with Vita Coco (love!), Plenish juices and Purition protein shakes. We were also given goody bags after with some tasty treats (yay, 9bar!).
If you like what you’ve seen/read then rave classes now being held at Gymbox in Bank, but they’re only on for 6 weeks so I definitely recommend you check them out quick!
